11 Reasons why our apps rock

1

There are millions of Android apps out there. Whatever are you trying to achieve, there are many to choose from. But how do you know which ones are the best? Well, here are some reasons why we think our apps from the Simple Mobile Tools suite belong to the best ones out there.

1. No ads

Do you like ads? No? Well, neither do we. However, we have some good news. None of our apps contains any ads whatsoever. Not even the free apps. It doesn’t only guarantee better user experience, but it also ensures that there are no marketing companies tracking you.

2. Great user experience

The apps are created by “User experience driven development”, which means that the user is always at the center of it. Things that do not affect the user experience in a positive way are just not important. This is not some geeky project which is supposed to please developers by testing the latest cutting edge libraries or other solutions. If something won’t make your life easier or better in any way, we pass.

3. Consistency

If you are an Android user (which I guess you are), you must have noticed the mess in the Android ecosystem. Apps handle the most basic things in so many different ways that it is hard to wrap your head around it. They often use weird icons that you don’t even know what they mean, until you press them. There are some great apps out there, but each of them comes from some different developers, so they all look and work differently. With our suite this cannot happen. As all apps are developed by us, we use the same icons, texts, behaviour wherever possible. If you want to change item sorting, you know where to look. You want to select multiple items at once? Sure, it works the same way in all apps.

4. No unnecessary permissions

This is an issue that is ignored more than often. Many apps out there request tons of permissions that they definitely don’t need. Such apps usually mine everything possible from your device with using some shady tactics, then send the data or files somewhere over the internet and sell it. You can easily see the requested app permissions at the bottom of every apps Google Play listing. If the app wants too much access to your device, just find another one. You should also check the permissions of preinstalled apps, you will probably be surprised. But just because something is preinstalled, it doesn’t mean that it isn’t dangerous.

5. No internet access

This is an important one, so it deserves a separate point. There are some “dangerous” permissions on Android that explicitly have to be accepted by users. For example accessing the contacts or files. However, the internet permission is not one of them. Every app that requests it will automatically get it. You can easily see which app has what permissions in your device settings. For example if an app displays ads, you can take it for granted that it has access to the internet. And you cannot really know what other things is it using the internet for, except for fetching ads. None app from our suite has internet access, guaranteeing your privacy and security. Even if we gathered some info about you (which we are not interested in), there is just no way we can send it to ourselves.

6. Color Customization

All of our apps come with dark theme by default. Not black, just dark. We went with dark theme before it was cool, just because we liked it. If you don’t, you can easily change any color in the app Settings -> Customize colors. You can even pick from many app icon colors. If you purchase Simple Thank You, you can use the Shared Theme, which will cause that whenever you change a color in one app, all apps in the suite will be affected by that change too.

7. Widgets

Widgets can be really helpful, if done properly. Well, we have done them properly. They are designed to be as intuitive as possible to save you valuable time. You can resize them, but also change their text and background colors, so that they will fit your home screen.

8. Open Source

We have nothing to hide, so we made our code open source. It can benefit other app developers aswell. It also encourages others to help us in the development, sending us some fixes from time to time.

9. Translations

Translations of the apps are all handled by volunteers. If you are wondering if there are any people willing to spend their time helping us for free, we guarantee you that yes, there are many people like that. Some of the apps are already translated in over 45languages, which sounds unbelievable and we cannot be thankful enough for those contributions. If you’d like to help, you can check out our Weblate project. You can either improve an existing translation or add a brand new language. If you need some help there, just let us know.

10. Affordable

Some of them are free, some of them are paid. That’s because the development takes time and money, so we have to make money in some way. As the apps have no ads and they aren’t stealing any of your data either, the best way to earn something was simply making them paid. That also makes our business model really clear. You just have to pay a small sum and you can use the apps forever. It is a one time payment, you will never have to pay for them again. Not even once you get a new device. If you want a refund, just contact us anytime at hello@simplemobiletools.com and you will get it. No questions asked.

11. Popular

Many of them have a rating above 4.5 on Google Play and over 60 million downloads in total, so it isn’t just some school project that can disappear anyday. Their popularity is also caused by them having a purpose, they weren’t created just to be popular or make money. Our goal is making your life easier and if we managed doing it at least by a little, it was already worth it.

That’s it, these are the main benefits we wanted to share. You can find the apps on our website, don’t forget following us on FacebookReddit or Telegram. Please share the article so that it reaches more people. Which points are the most important to you? Is there anything we missed? Let us know :)
